Headingley school wins green cash prize
A Headingley school has hit the jackpot for its green credentials.
Shire Oak has been awarded 5,000 by the National College for School Leadership (NCSL).
To secure the cash, Shire Oak Primary had to prove they it was committed to long-term, sustainable projects designed to make the world a healthier place.

At Shire Oak, staff and pupils have been working to improve international links and are currently working toward an International School award.
The school is also part of a project with Leeds Development Education Centre looking at global citizenship and entitlement.
In addition, it has recently taken part in an "Open Futures" project which linked food sourcing and growing with cooking, and hopes to achieve Fair Trade Status early this year.
Shire Oak is among just 56 schools that successfully beat off competition from schools across England to win the grants.
Toby Greany, NCSL's operational director of research and policy said: "We have been extremely impressed with the number and the standard of applications we received from schools bidding for the grants.
"It really shows the effort which schools are starting to put in to sustainability
"This commitment is great news and shows that the scale of the problem is recognised among school leaders. We look forward to them assisting us with our research."
