Paul Oldham, assistant headteacher at Richmond House organised the spelling challenge as part of an NSPCC curriculum linked fundraising activity.

He said: "The depth and variety of the work undertaken by the NSPCC is vast and includes working closely with schools to ensure that all children can enjoy safe and happy childhoods."

"We are absolutely delighted to be able to help the NSPCC's FULL STOP campaign through our activities here in school and we have had great fun doing it. As a result we have been able to swell the charity funds by a significant amount at this very special time of the year."
