Headingley Hospice patients create their own art treasures

Patients at Wheatfields Hospice in Headingley will see their artwork take pride of place at a London exhibition as part of the Art Liberating Lives scheme.

The event, now in its third year, aims to highlight the importance of art therapy in hospices, with patients working to the theme 'What does Sue Ryder Care mean to you?'

The work will be exhibited at the Mall Galleries in London in December and then sold through a silent auction in aid of the charity.

For the first time, the fundraising event is also open to novice and professional artists, who are asked to create works that reflect the theme of "Liberation".
