Work will be taking place between 7am and 7pm, but pedestrian access will be available at all times.

Any disruption to residents during the work will be kept to a minimum, but a road closure and traffic diversion will be in place on Town Street during the working day.

Councillor Graham Latty (Con, Guiseley and Rawdon) told Guiseley Today:

"I'm extremely pleased that this new zebra crossing will soon be up and running. This is a busy area used by lots of school children everyday, and this crossing will make their daily walk to and from school much, much safer. The peace of mind for parents whose children use this route is going to be greatly improved."

Councillor Stuart Andrew (Con, Guiseley and Rawdon) said:

"It's great news that this work is being carried out. The junction of Queensway and Town Street is very busy, so this crossing is going to contribute greatly to the safety of pedestrians."

Councillor John Bale (Con, Guiseley and Rawdon) added: "This crossing is going to be a great improvement to a bustling part of Guiseley, but whilst this work is done it would be helpful if residents and people visiting the area could refrain from parking on the carriageway, to keep any disruption to the work as low as possible."
