Temple Newsam estate guides will lead a walk on April 26 that will help visitors identify the calls of birds.

But you will have to be up in time for the 5.30am start at the Leeds estate's stable courtyard. Those who make it will be provided with a free leaflet and binoculars and taken on a leisurely walk through open grass, woodland and hedgerows and alongside the lake.

Birds most likely to be seen and heard are song thrush, skylark, chaffinch, willow warbler, great tit, blue tit, wren, chiff chaff, great spotted woodpecker and green woodpecker.
The three-hour walk ends with a full English breakfast.
