Garforth: Play area opens after residents' campaign
Youngsters have a new place to play thanks to a campaign by local residents.
Pupils and staff from Ninelands Primary School in Garforth joined councillors and members of Garforth Residents Association for the unveiling of the new play area on Glebelands playing fields.
Cash for the project came from Grantscape, the Outer East Area Committee Capital Budget and local councillors' town and country planning funds.
Phil Dunwell, chairman of the residents association, said: "This is a massive improvement from what was there before and will give our young people enjoyment for years to come."
Angela Utley, from Ninelands Primary School, added: "The new play area is a fantastic addition to the local community."
