Froebelian School: Reunions invite
A series of reunions for past pupils will be taking place at a Horsforth school in the lead up to its centenary in 2013.

The first reunion will be held on October 12 and invites have been sent out to pupils, who keep in touch via the termly newsletter, that left the school prior to 1960.

Now past pupils and staff who have been missed off the list are urged to come back to school and meet up with people they may not have seen for over 40 years.
The school was started in a small house in Horsforth in 1913, by Mary Louise Hoe, daughter of Newlay stationmaster Mr Hoe.
In 1932 the school moved into Clarence Road, first to number 12 and soon extending into number 14.
Playing space was at a premium for the 80 pupils in the 1930s and '40s.
The back yards were 'out of bounds' and the only alternative was Clarence Road itself which often became the playing area for games of rounders.
In the late 1950s, new premises were purchased in Clarence Road and since then it has gone from strength to strength.
