James's grandfather, Douglas Pike, served in the Second World War as a Japanese message translator in the RAF. He chose this job as he had learnt fluent Japanese.
James said "Although my grandfather was in the RAF, he mostly worked in aircraft carriers."
John Tranmer, head teacher, said he and his staff had felt very proud and moved by James' tribute to all of the fallen - then and now.
