Farsley: Second phase of improvements set to go ahead
The next stage of a scheme to regenerate Farsley is moving ahead.
Phase two of the Farsley Town and District Centre project is set to see a series of improvements to Farsley town centre, including: resurfacing the Andrew Square car park, refurbishing the toilet area, heritage style street lamps installed on the main shopping area on Farsley Town Street, heritage guard rails alongside the highway, and resurfacing of the ginnel opposite Andrew Square.

The scheme is part of the wider Town and District Centre regeneration initiative – a 13m project established by Coun Andrew Carter as leader of the council in 2004.
Coun Carter (Con, Calverley & Farsley) said: "I am delighted that phase two has been agreed and that the additional work to boost the appearance of Farsley town centre is going ahead.
"This scheme will complement the work already done to install new heritage-style bus shelters as well as the improvements outside the library and at 'Sheep's Head' park.
"The project forms part of the huge Town and District Centre scheme, an initiative we set up in 2004 to invest in small towns and villages around the city.
"By improving the appearance of our towns and district centres we can help to make them more attractive for residents, visitors and businesses.
"These improvements in Farsley will enhance the look of the town centre for the benefit of everyone who uses it, helping to ensure it continues to be a thriving place for local people and trade."
