Farsley AFC: Fun day thanks to supporters

A football club which has been in existence for over a century will celebrate coming back from the brink.

Farsley AFC, which was previously known as Farsley Celtic, went into administration last year.

The new club was formed by Palmers Consortium and accepted into the Koolsport Counties East League Premier Division in June.

To launch the new club Throstle Nest will be opening its grounds for an afternoon of family fun on Saturday (1pm).

Farsley AFC will play Selby Town at 3pm and the activities will continue throughout the match and into the evening, with a DJ on from 7.30pm.

Match tickets are 15 for a family of four including barbecue and children's activities.

John Palmer, chairman of Farsley AFC, said: "We are delighted to be holding this event which will be a great way to celebrate the launch of Farsley AFC. This event is our way of saying thank you to our fans."
