Families back to Headingley scheme shows success
A scheme to encourage familes back into Headingley is already showing signs of success.
Headingley Homes is a joint initiative between Manning Stainton estate agents and Headingley Development Trust.
The trust helps highlight suitable family homes and tries to find new familes to buy the homes of those moving from the area.
The idea is to encourage a mix of people in the suburb.
Trust member Richard Tyler said: "With the help of Manning Stainton we have produced an information leaflet stating the case for increasing Headingley's diversity and sustainability by actively promoting family homes."
And according to Manning Stainton sales and marketing director David Pank, it is already starting to bear fruit.
He said: "Our Headingley branch reports that so far this year the majority of house sales in the Headingley, Hyde Park and Woodhouse districts are to families. Most departing families sell on to new families and some even buy from landlords."
