All funds collected from the Nativity Scene and the Wishing Well in the centre will be donated to CDGNS by the centre management.

Stephen Seymour, Centre Manager, told Cross Gates Today: "It has become a time honoured part of our Christmas celebrations to raise funds for local charities throughout the season of goodwill as we firmly believe in supporting the local community and Leeds based charities. "

This year's charity was chosen by the Churches of Leeds 15, who provide the Nativity scene, and a number of choirs and singers who will be visiting the centre to entertain customers and bring the true meaning of Christmas into the heart of the community.

Trustees and staff of Crossgates & District Good Neighbours Scheme are extremely grateful for this generous offer. We would be unable to provide the services we do for the elderly in our community without the support we receive from local businesses.

As part of the celebrations, CGDNS trustees visited the centre on Sunday, November 23 to meet Santa Claus when he arrived to take up residence in his grotto.

The Centre was alive with stilt-walkers and children's entertainers, and local children took the opportunity to have their faces painted with festive designs. This thoroughly enjoyable event was a fitting start to the festive season in Crossgates.
