The Barnbow on Austhorpe Road and The Aire Of The Dog in Kirkstall are calling for people to collect school supplies and arts & crafts materials.
Half of the goods will stay in the UK going to children's charity, Kids Out.

The rest will be taken directly to four Save the Children schools and orphanages in the poorest parts of Romania.
Items needed include:
* Education supplies (school bags, stationery, stickers)
* Arts & Crafts (coloured paper, paints, glitter)
* Fun stuff (toys, costume jewellery, educational games)
Due to import regulations, all items should be new and suitable for children aged 5 and over.
Both pubs will have a collection point where people can hand in their items – everything is appreciated, from a single paintbrush to a bag filled with goodies. The deadline for collection is 26th July 09.
Local schools and kids' groups are also encouraged to take part, with pupils asked to draw a picture for children in Romania to enjoy. Kids taking part can be sent photographs of the Romanian children with their works of art.
Kids Out runs a Toy Box Scheme providing essential items to children across the UK when they are re-housed in a refuge after fleeing abuse, violence or neglect.
The Barnbow's general manager, Rob Dunn, told Cross Gates Today: "We hope this project will not only help children living in oppressive circumstances but also educate our local children about how some kids live very different lives and the importance of helping those not as fortunate as themselves. We have been amazed in the past at the generosity of our customers and I am sure they will pull together to ensure our 'home and away' campaign is a success."
