Cross Gates & District Good Neighbours Scheme have announced details of their weekly Monday Walks programme over the coming months:

Monday, March 31 - Aberford, Hazelwood Castle & Lead Church.

Easy walking on lane & field path with chance to look at this historic Church, on this longer than usual walk. 4.5 miles

Meet /time: 1pm at Cross Gates & District Good Neighbours Scheme.

Monday, April 7 - Thorner, Pompocali & Bardsey.

Wood-lands, Lanes, streams & fieldpath- plus an ancient Roman earthworks. Two stiles. 3.75 miles.

Meet/time: 1pm at Cross Gates & District Good Neighbours Scheme.

Monday, April 14 - Boston Spa to Wetherby.

Mainly flat walking on old railway line route. Wooded cuttings and embankments. No stiles. 3.6 miles

Meet/time: 1pm at Cross Gates & District Good Neighbours Scheme.

Monday, April 21 - Stanley & South Washlands Nature reserve.

The nature reserve, canal & river all combine to add interest to this walk. 3.5 miles

Monday, April 28 - St Helens Farm to Clifford Via Bramham.

Using a mixture of field paths and lanes we visit these old villages. Easy walking but a few stiles. 3.5 miles

Monday, May 5 - May Day Holiday. No Walk.

Monday, May 12 - New Miller Dam.

We have good paths all the way around the lake, walking in delightful woods with tremendous scenery throughout. A favourite walk. 3 miles

Monday, May 19 - Garforth to Astley Lane on Leeds Country Way.

Mainly walking on firm lanes and field paths. No stiles. 3.5 miles

Monday, May 26 - Spring Bank Holiday. No Walk.

Monday, June 2 - Meanwood Valley Trail (First part).

From Woodhouse Moor to the Ring Road. Quickly away from housing and into valleys, streams and woods. Good paths and lanes. Includes Meanwood Park. No stiles. 3.5 miles

Monday, June 9 - Meanwood Valley Trail (Second part).

From the Ring Road to Golden Acre Park. Walking through the valleys and streams of Adel woods. Good paths and lanes. No stiles. 3.5 miles

Meet/time: 1pm at Cross Gates & District Good Neighbours Scheme.

Monday, June 16 - Pugneys Country Park.

Good flat walking around the park, with an easy hill to the castle with its panoramic views. No stiles. 3 miles

Meet/time: 1pm at Cross Gates & District Good Neighbours Scheme.

Monday, June 23 - Day outing to walk at Hebden Bridge, Heptonstall & Colden Water.

Remember Bus Pass. Uses train and Hebden Bridgers' bus. All down hill walking but some rough areas.

Meet/time: 9.55am at Cross Gates & District Good Neighbours Scheme to catch 10.10am train. Change 10.37am in Leeds.

Monday, June 30 - Great Preston to Castleford via Allerton Bywater.

Lanes, footpaths, lakes & riverside on to-days walk. 3 miles

Meet/time: No. 166 bus at 1pm
