Cross Gates charity music festival aims to strike the right chord

A mini festival of music is being held in Cross Gates next month to help raise money for charity. Click here for more details.

Oxjam Crossgates is being staged on Saturday October 13 (2pm-10pm) at St James Church on Church Lane.

All profits for Oxfam's work in countries around the world.

A packed programme of different musical genres will be on offer with something to cater for all ages and tastes.

The line-up will includes Stanley Accrington, The Duncan MacFarlane acoustic band, Gerry McNeice, Sharon Brown The hit squad, Tim Knight, Esther Arens, Heather Woodhead, Helen Wright, Mike Rignall, Alan Smith, David Kidman, Russ Hughes, Janet Richardson, Karen Gray, Alison Battye, Rebekah Nunns, Jess & Issy Flynn, Jacob Pyrah.

Heather Woodhead, organiser of Oxjam Crossgates, said: "If you enjoy music you'll enjoy Oxjam Crossgates. By buying a ticket, not only will you be having a relaxing and entertaining day, you'll be helping Oxfam to work with other organisations to overcome poverty and suffering around the world.

Ms Woodhead added: "We have children and adults performing a variety of styles. Something to suit everyone. Come & go as you please or stay all day."

2pm-3pm Mainly children

3pm– 5pm Mainly classical

5pm– 6.15pm Sacred incl. Saturday Sanctuary

6.15–7pm Mainly classical

7pm–10pm acoustic/folk
