Children attended the summer sports camp and used the facilities on the Horsforth campus, which opened to the community last November.

The participants aged between 5 and 11 years spent each day learning new skills and techniques relating to sports including basketball, football and badminton.

Patrick Muir, duty manager of the Sports Centre and past-student at Leeds Trinity, has been organising the summer camp.

He said: "We have had a fantastic response from parents who have signed up their children for this summer holiday activity, so much so, we are hoping to make it an annual event.

"All the instructors for the week are current students, qualified to teach sport related to their degree courses here at Leeds Trinity, something which will be great experience for them when they graduate."
