Councillor Joe Marjoram (Cons, Calverley & Farsley) said:

"We're obviously at the early stages with this scheme, but there's great potential to provide a quality bike trail at Brookfield Recreation Ground.

"This funding will help officers look into the feasibility of such a scheme and see what kind of demand there is amongst the local community. I look forward to getting some feedback on these proposals."

Councillor Andrew Carter (Cons, Calverley & Farsley) added: "Ensuring that our parks and recreation grounds can offer interesting activities for visitors is a top priority, and we're always looking to make improvements that will be welcomed by local people.

"Brookfield Recreation Ground is already a popular place to relax, but a bike trail could add an extra dimension that would boost visitor numbers still further."
