Ant, 34, told OK! magazine: "If we win Best Presenter they give us two gongs so that's quite good, but if one of our shows wins we have to fight over it."

Dec, also 34, said: "They are very heavy. I dropped one on my foot once, split it open and had to go to hospital.

Ant added: "That was an interesting trip to A&E!".

The pair, who scooped their ninth National Television Award for best presenter and took home the entertainment show prize for Saturday Night Takeaway, are filming the next series of Britain's Got Talent with Simon Cowell.

Dec said of the new series: "We found a couple of interesting characters. Not the next Susan Boyle as such. But I don't think the winner next year will be like Susan Boyle. I think it will be somebody completely different that none of us will expect."
