Allerton High: Pupil box clever to help needy youngsters
These are just some of the dozens of gifts boxes that Moortown pupils have collected for needy youngsters across the globe.
Students at Allerton High put together 150 shoeboxes filled with goods including a toy, toothbrush and toothpaste, soap, something to write with and sunglasses or a woolly hat.
The collection was part of Operation Christmas Child, run each year by the Samaritan's Purse international relief charity.
The Allerton boxes, which cost about 3,000 to fill, will be sent to children in Belarus and Bosnia.
Since 1993, more than 61 million shoe boxes have been packed, shipped, and delivered across the globe as part of the project.
