A YOUNG film director, inspired by her hard working parents who run restaurants in Leeds, is on her way to success with her latest film.

Vicki Psarias, 25, is the daughter of Vasoullis and George Psarias who run the chain of Olive Tree restaurants in Rodley, Chapel Allerton and Headingley.

Her new film Broken, which stars former EastEnders actress Michelle Collins, is about a Greek Cypriot girl Chrystalla who arrives to meet her father in England, only to find him cheating on her mother.

Leeds-born Greek Cypriot Vicki, who lives in London, said: "The script was chosen from thousands to be funded by the European Regional Development Fund for Film London East."

Although Vicki admits she is often inspired by the busy lifestyle of her parents who work all hours to run their three restaurants, the latest male character is no reflection on her dad.

Vicki has also been in Leeds working as a trainee director on Kay Mellor's latest series Strictly Confidential, being shot in Leeds.

Broken will be completed early next year and will show at the East End Film Festival in 2007.
