PREMIER league star Kevin Nolan has been hit with a speeding conviction at Wakefield Magistrates’ Court.
The Newcastle United midfielder was given a 28-day disqualification and fines totalling almost £3,000 for clocking 108mph on the M1 near Wakefield.
Barrister Ben Campbell immediately signalled the goalscoring midfielder’s intent to appeal against the disqualification.
Sentencing Nolan in his absence, District Judge Mallon said: ”I am sentencing Kevin Nolan and for this offence. I take into account that he pleaded guilty at the eleventh hour. I take in to account the high speed and inherent danger therein.”
She handed Nolan a driving disqualification of 28 days, fine of £2,250, a surcharge of £15 and costs of £500.
