With less than a week to go, the Lord Mayor of Leeds has urged the city to get behind his Just One Day fundraiser in aid of the Leeds Children’s Hospital Appeal.

Residents, businesses, community groups and schools are being invited to plan a charity-boosting activity on Friday, April 24, in aid of the Lord Mayor’s Charity Appeal.

As councillor David Congreve prepares to finish his term of office as Lord Mayor this May, he hopes to give a final fundraising push to his chosen charity.

All money raised from events taking place for Just One Day on Friday will help fund vital equipment and brighten up wards at the Leeds Children’s Hospital.

Whether it is organising a sponsored event, wearing fancy dress for the day, holding a cake sale or donating a proportion of sales, every penny is needed.

The Lord Mayor Leeds told the YEP: “With just less than a week to go, it would be absolutely fantastic if the very generous people of Leeds could spare anytime next Friday to raise money for my chosen charity this year, the Leeds Children’s Hospital as part of the first official ‘Just One Day’ campaign to be held in our city.

“Any donation however small will be gratefully received.

“You can be guaranteed that every penny which is collected will be given to the Leeds Children’s Hospital who care so brilliantly for young people and also provide much needed support to their families.”

To donate to the appeal, text LMCA01 followed by the amount - such as LMCA01£5 - to 70070 or go online at www.justgiving.com/lmca.

Let us know what you’re planning for Just One Day and we can feature your fundraising efforts in the paper.
