IMAGES CAPTURING the faces of some of the men who became embroiled in a mass brawl in a Castleford car park have been released by police.

The pictures, lifted from CCTV footage of the fight at the Xscape leisure park at the weekend, are being shared with the public in a bid to help West Yorkshire Police identify those involved.

Officers want to speak the people in the images in connection with the affray which happened between 6.30pm and 6.35pm on Sunday.

The disturbance arose following an argument among a group of about 30 men who began fighting inside and then outside a pub.

The CCTV footage showed one person lying prone on the ground, and a crowd of onlookers were seen gathered as the violence flared.

The fight only ended when security staff intervened, causing the crowd to disperse.

We would like to speak to anyone who recognises any of the men pictured in the CCTV images.

One man received a head wound which was not life threatening but which needed hospital treatment.

Sergeant Alex Macleod, of the Castleford Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Enquiries are ongoing regarding this incident and we would like to speak to anyone who recognises any of the men pictured in the CCTV images.

“I would ask anyone who knows any of these men to contact myself at the Castleford Neighbourhood Policing Team on 101. Information can also be given in confidence to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

A 31-year-old Normanton man has been arrested on suspicion of affray in connection with the incident and has been bailed pending ongoing enquiries.
