A Leeds community gathered to pay a unique tribute to a much loved family man and radio presenter who passed away suddenly earlier this year.

Hundreds attended the event at community radio station Fever FM in Roundhay Road for a balloon release to honour Manminder Singh Saundh, from Moortown, who died in April aged just 35.

Colleagues at the radio station, where Mr Saundh presented a show, joined with his family and members of the community to release 35 balloons into the skies.

Members of his bhangra drum troupe also played in memory of their much missed friend.

The emotional memorial was part of a wider open day of events at the popular community broadcaster’s studios.

Visitors took part in fun activities, enjoyed delicious food and were invited to speak live on the air and to record their own personal jingles and messages.
