NEW homes could be built on the site of a derelict former builder’s yard in west Leeds.

Westcourt Homes Ltd has submitted a full planning application to Leeds City Council to build 10 houses on the brownfield plot between Old Road and New Street at Farsley near Pudsey.

The plans are for a mix of three and four-bedroom townhouses and semi-detached homes on the development, which would be named St John’s View.

Westcourt Group director Tim Hodgson said building work at the Farsley site could get underway early next year, subject to planning permission.

Mr Hodgson added: “If approved, the St John’s View development will breathe a new lease of life into the area.

“A two-minute walk into the centre of Farsley with fantastic transport links, residents will benefit from a host of amenities on their doorstep.
