Young history detectives have gathered to investigate the rich history of a landmark south Leeds park.
Youngsters, aged eight to 17, have been exploring their local heritage, learning new skills and having fun as part of a scheme at Middleton Park led by archaeology experts from Leeds based ASWYAS.
Coun Kim Groves (Lab, Middleton Park) said: “This is a really exciting initiative and will help bring the heritage of Middleton Park alive for young people.”
Middleton Park History Detectives club stems from the Parks for People project supported by the Heritage Lottery and Big Lottery funds along with Leeds City Council and Wade’s Charity.
The group meets at Middleton Park’s visitor centre on Saturdays, from 10am to 12noon. Call 0113 3939747 for information.
