Here's why a 26ft Christmas tree made from butter is coming to Leeds

A Christmas tree made from 500 packs of butter will take up residence in Leeds city centre next month.

Lurpak will be erecting their 26ft-high tree on Briggate from December 1-3 as part of a promotion.

Passing shoppers will be able to sample yuletide treats in a circular serving area surrounding the tree, which took three weeks to create and is touring the UK.

It's four times the size of an average Christmas tree, and staff will be handing out mince pies, roast ham, yule log and other Lurpak-based snacks.

Free seasonal recipe books will also be available.
