A call has gone out for top teams to enter the most keenly-contested category in the Yorkshire Evening Post Best of Health Awards 2016.
The awards are currently underway in a bid to discover the best health workers from across Leeds and West Yorkshire.
Every year, entries flood in for the Team of the Year category, in which the exceptional teams of health professionals are recognised.
This year is no exception – but we want to hear about more of the amazing work done by teams of people in the health field.
They could be based in any sector or setting, and work together every day or on a specific project, as long as they pull together to ensure those they look after are given the best possible care and treatment.
Previous winners have included the Restart A Heart Team at Yorkshire Ambulance Service, who organised a training day for thousands of Yorkshire schoolchildren to learn CPR.
Last year, the Team of the Year award went to Wetherby Young Offenders’ Institute’s healthcare team, who battled various issues to ensure inmates had “excellent” care.
This category is sponsored by Sovereign Health Care, who are also sponsoring the overall awards.
Chief executive Russ Piper said: “As a West Yorkshire organisation, established over 140 years ago, which aims to help people be proactive about their everyday health care, it is a natural fit for us to support these awards.”
Nominations close on October 19 and the winners will be announced at an awards lunch on December 5.
