A health boss is taking on a coast to coast cycling challenge in aid of St Gemma’s Hospice.

Philomena (Phil) Corrigan, chief executive for NHS Leeds West Clinical Commissioning Group, hopes to complete the 124 mile Hadrian’s Wall Coast to Coast route within three days next month to raise money for the hospice.

Phil said: “St Gemma’s Hospice provides incredible care for patients, as well as offering support to family and friends at such difficult times. I’ve had close friends and family who have received the best care and support and I want to give something back so that the hospice can continue to provide compassionate care for people going through life-threatening illnesses.

“Every penny that is donated will go to the charity as I will be funding the actual ride myself.”

St Gemma’s Hospice in Moortown is the largest in Yorkshire and cares for local people.
