AN INSPIRATIONAL little girl led her friends on a sponsored walk to add £1,000 for her chosen charity.

Nine-year-old Evie Addelman, from Alwoodley, was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease last year and has started her Evie’s Way campaign, complete with blog and Twitter account, to raise money for the Leeds branch of Crohn’s and Colitis UK.

Yesterday she led 80 of her classmates from Brodetsky Primary School, friends and family on a two-and-a-half mile sponsored walk around Roundhay Park, culminating with a balloon release.

Evie’s dad Rob said: “It was fantastic. We haven’t totted up a total yet, but we hope the day will have raised £1,000 - which will take the total raised so far to around £3,000. Evie is loving the fundraising, she takes it all in her stride.”
