Countdown’s Rachel helps customers achieve a better life in Leeds

Have your say

A countdown to a Betterlife was given a celebrity helping hand at a pharmacy in Leeds today.

Rachel Riley, the star of Channel 4 hit show ‘Countdown’, visited Tong Road in Lower Wortley to open the UK’s first Betterlife from LloydsPharmacy store.

Leeds residents joined Rachel to witness the unveiling of the shop, which offers customers equipment to help with everyday tasks like bathing, dressing, cooking and getting around.

The store features interactive designs including a multi-surface ‘track’ for people to test motor scooters, a working lounge and kitchen set for people to test products and imagine themselves at home.

An archway will link the store and the LloydsPharmacy next door, allowing trained experts to provide holistic advice across both stores.

Grant Abrahams, Head of Betterlife, said: “For some people admitting that they need help is a big step and we hope the new store will help to support customers and their families.”

People around the world are marking Earth Hour this evening. People in Britain are expected to join in at 8.30pm... and then they will switch their clocks forward tonight as British Summer Time begins.

Get ready to turn your clocks forward... but before that expect things to get much darker
