A cycling champion has spoken of his pride at the firm he works for becoming an official support of the Grand Depart of the Tour de France.

Accountant Adam Duggleby, 29, of Bramley, works for Yorkshire Building Society, which announced its involvement with the event on July 5 and 6 today.

Senior National Championship medal winner Adam said: “The Tour de France Grand Depart will be one of the biggest sporting events ever seen in Yorkshire and it will be great for cycling in Yorkshire and the UK.

“It’s fantastic to be working for a company that is showing real support for the event and the region and I can’t wait to join the crowds.”

The society celebates its 150th anniversary this year.
