ENTRIES are open for this summer’s Wakefield Hospice 10k road race and fun run.

The 19th annual event is set to place at Thornes Park on Sunday April 6. And wheelchair athletes can enter the event for the first ever time.

Last year hundreds of people took part and raised more than £37,000 for Wakefield Hospice, helping pay for vital care for cancer patients and their families.

Hospice fundraiser Danielle Cain said: “Wakefield Hospice is delighted that this event will be open to wheelchair athletes who want to support the hospice by taking part in the event. We hope as many people can help us raise hundreds of pounds for patient care by joining in the Wakefield 10k and fun run.”
