Forensics discover gunshot damage in Leeds street

Forensic investigators have been called to a Leeds street following the suspected discharge of a firearm.

West Yorkshire Police officers were called to Tong Way in Farnley early this morning and a substantial police presence has continued in the area throughout the day.

In a statement, the force said: “At 5.55am today, police were called to a report of damage to an unoccupied car parked in Tong Way, Farnley. The damage has now been confirmed as being consistent with a gunshot. A scene has been established and is undergoing forensic examination and enquiries are ongoing.

“The incident occurred sometime between 10pm and 5.55am.

“Anyone who witnessed anything suspicious or who has any information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact Leeds District CID via 101 quoting log number 201 of March 17.”
