‘May the fourth be with you’, they proclaimed, and it certainly awakened in Leeds yesterday.

The date now known globally as Star Wars day brought some added excitement to the buzz already building towards the release of the next film in the blockbusting sci-fi fantasy series,

Among those celebrating in Leeds yesterday was The Works in the Merrion Centre, which dedicated several aisles to Star Wars memorabilia, with staff spending the weekend ensuring that the shelves were fully stocked.

Chris Bennett, from The Works, said Star Wars fever was “bigger than ever this year” with Star Wars: The Force Awakens launching in December. The second official trailer for the film has already racked up almost 49 million YouTube views after just two weeks on release.
