Football fans in court over fight

Eighteen football fans appeared at the Old Bailey today accused of causing an affray.

They were arrested on the last day of the football season in May after a fight broke out at Liverpool Street station in London.

The accused, aged from 17 to 40, were supporters of Brentford and Leyton Orient football clubs.

They appeared in the dock in two back-to-back hearings and 14 were remanded to another hearing next month.

Four men pleaded guilty to the charge and were told they would be sentenced at the end of any trials.

All were remanded on bail.
