Five in court after Leeds murder

five people have today appeared in court charged with murder, police said.

The five, from Leeds, were today charged with the murder of Christopher Wade in Farnley, earlier this week, a spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said.

A 23-year-old man, two men both aged 19, and two youths aged 16 and 17, appeared at Leeds Magistrates Court this morning.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said the men were remanded in custody by the court.

Mr Wade, 27, of Leeds, died on Wednesday after being attacked in the area near the Butterbowl pub in Butterbowl Drive, Farnley, on Tuesday afternoon.

The police spokesman said all five are due to appear at Leeds Crown Court on Tuesday.
