Fire in flat near Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds

FIRE crews dealt with a blaze in a high-rise block of flats near the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds.

Members of the public raised the alarm just before 8pm last night after hearing smoke detectors sounding in the fourth floor flat at Magellan House on Armouries Way

Firefighters extinguished the small blaze in the kitchen at the flat.

Fire engines from Leeds, Hunslet and Killingbeck attended the incident along with aerial appliance from Leeds Fire Station.
