Fire crews have tackled a fire at a high rise block in Leeds this evening.

It was a cooker fire in a flat on the ninth floor of Poplar Mount at Bramley. The male occupier, aged 29, suffered slight smoke inhalation and was treated on scene by paramedics.

Fire crews were called at 6.15pm and appliances from Stanningley, Leeds and Hunslet attended.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said: "The fire did not spread beyond this flat and was confined to the cooker."
