Finishing flourishes being made before Leeds West Indian Carnival

Have your say

The finishing touches are being made to the costumes for this year’s West Indian Carnival – are here’s a sneaky peek to whet appetites.

The main event will take place on Monday August 25 bank holiday, starting early with a music event called J’Ouvert – also known as pajama jamming – when members of the public are invited to dress in nightwear to celebrate the start of the day. The colour and carnival of the parade itself will start from Potternewton Park at 2pm.
