WITH seven children ranging from the ages of 17 to one, it’s not easy for the Goldman family to find a day out that suits them all.

Which is why Simon Goldman founded his own - the Geronimo festival.

The two-day children’s event, which comes to Harewood House in Leeds for the first time this year, promises something for everyone from tiny tots to teenagers.

“Harewood is somewhere we have visited many times with our kids,” said Simon.

“For us it was a no brainer to choose Harewood.”

The 44-year-old from Salford said the inspiration for the festival was his own family.

“We were not finding amazing days out often enough,” he said. We like to do different and unusual activities with our children and spend quality time together as a family.”

But it was difficult to find events which ticked those boxes, so Simon decided to set up his own event.
Last year, Geronimo was held for the first time at Tatton Park in Cheshire. This year, the festival is also taking place in West Yorkshire, at Harewood House on May 1 and 2.

One of the headline acts is CBeebies star Justin Fletcher, otherwise known as Mr Tumble, who will appear on May 1.

And there are an array of other attractions planned. “We have got a full county fair, you can go to the circus, we have a trapeze school,” Simon said.
