a much respected former Leeds Mayor and beloved mum and wife will be laid to rest next week.

Denise Atkinson, who served the city as a councillor for four decades, passed away earlier this month at the age of 68. The former Bramley councillor had been battling illness for several years. She is survived by husband Stephen and son Timothy.

A service to celebrate her life will take place at Rawdon Crematorium, on Wednesday, April 27 at 11.40am. Family flowers only are requested. Donations in lieu can be made to Lineham Farm Children’s Centre, of which Denise was a great supporter, and may be left at the service.
