HUNDREDS of cocktail fans are descending on Leeds Town Hall tonight to see the city’s top bartenders battle it out.
The two-day Cocktails in the City competition kicks off today and sees the best Leeds bars go head-to-head.
A total of 20 bars are taking part this year, offering ticketholders the chance to sample their creations, which range from cheesecake-based concoctions to a modern twist on the traditional rum punch recipe.
Speaking previously, organiser Tabara N’Diaye said: “Every year we challenge ourselves to build on previous editions and make each festival even better than the one before.”

This year it’s bigger and better than ever, with tastings, masterclasses and games.
There is also a Tick Tock Unlock escape room, rum and chocolate tastings with Hotel Chocolat and street food vendors, who will be serving up dishes in the undercover crypt.
Visitors can also sip on cocktails in the clock tower or in one of the hidden bars in the Victorian prison cells beneath the Town Hall.
Taking part this year are Bar Soba, Chaophraya, Jake’s Bar, the Jones Bar Group, Mojo, Revolucion de Cuba, Roxy Leisure, Skylounge, The Brotherhood, The East Village, Manahatta, Cielo Blanco, The Hedonist Project, Chez Mal, Almost Famous, Pintura, Meat Liquor, The Alchemist and Roast and Conch.
The festival will be held at Leeds Town Hall from 6pm to 11pm tonight and tomorrow.
