Elderly Wakefield man falls victim to window cleaner burglars

POLICE ARE seeking two men who purported to be window cleaners before stealing money from an elderly man’s house in Wakefield.

The incident, described by police as a distraction burglary, happened on Saturday in Garden Street.

The men, who travelled to the area in a white transit van, asked residents if they wanted their windows cleaned before managing to get into the elderly man’s house.

They left the area after leaving the property.

Both men were white, one was aged in his 30s and the other in his 50s.

Anyone who has any information is asked to contact Wakefield CID via 101.
