Elderly man seriously hurt after being hit by a car

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen an elderly man who was struck by a car in Leeds today.

The 80-year-old suffered serious injuries after the accident on Roundhay Road in Harehills at 2.30pm on Friday.

He was hit by a black Vauxhall Meriva near Elford Place West.

The driver remained at the scene and was uninjured.  

Officers are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and may have seen the car, or who witnessed the collision itself to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Safer Roads and Neighbourhoods Support Team East via 101 quoting 1031 of June 9.
