A commonwealth Games gold medallist has officially opened a Leeds school’s refurbished Sixth Form Centre.

Leeds-born gymnast Nile Wilson visited the centre at Fulneck School, which has undergone a £200,000 revamp.

It has been equipped with state-of-the-art IT resources and updated facilities.

Principal Deborah Newman said: “Senior pupils can often feel under pressure given the weight of decisions they make about their futures at this time in their lives. So, in addition to modernising our provisions and updating our infrastructure we have tried to create a relaxing and positive atmosphere that allows them to really thrive.”
