A CROSS Gates pub showed it had the right recipe for Christmas cheer when it served up a complimentary carvery lunch for 30 people.

Staff at the New Travellers Rest decided to do their bit for the community after playing host to an event in November organised by Cross Gates and District Good Neighbours’ Scheme.

Last month’s event was part of an initiative called Shared Tables, which aims to bring older people together for group meals out.
