PREPARATIONS ARE in full swing for this weekend’s Seacroft Gala.

The event, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary, will be held on Seacroft Village Green from midday to 4pm on Saturday.

But organisers are also warning that this year’s event could be the last unless more people are found to help run it.

Seacroft Gala Committee’s Diane Marsden told the Yorkshire Evening Post: “We currently have a very small committee of six and a few dedicated volunteers who for the last few years have been doing everything from raising money and hiring equipment to organising performances and booking stalls.

“It is a lot to undertake every year and other than out-of-pocket expenses, no one gets paid anything for their time.”

Anyone interested in helping with the organisation of future galas is asked to email seacroftgala@gmail.com or ring 0113 318 0522.
