Council chiefs have approved spending £73,000 on improvements in Cross Green.

In the first of several proposed schemes, a project to tackle litter and an anti-social behaviour hotspot in the area has been given a cash boost.

The work aims to improve the appearance and security at Back Cautley Road and Copperfield Mount, with patrols increased and areas cleared of litter.

Fencing will also be installed at garages on the streets, which have been targets for crime and anti-social behaviour.
