A runaway convicted rapist who disappeared after failing to attend a bail hostel after release from prison has been rearrested

Scott David Brown, 23, who was released from prison on December 20 but never arrived at the hostel in Dewsbury, was detained at an undisclosed address in Pontefract on Thursday night at 11.35pm.

Brown was later charged with breaching a sex offenders registration and was due to be returned to prison.

Brown was jailed for four years after being convicted of raping a 17-year-old girl whom he threatened to kill in Pontefract in August 2004.”
